Final Announcement: Grades Posted to Cunyfirst

Hello All,

This is my final message of the semester. Well done for all your hard work, and congratulations on making it through possibly the weirdest semester in the history of BMCC. Your final grades are now posted in Cunyfirst. Please remember you can request a CR or NCR option IF you are not satisfied with your grade. If you have an A, you will probably want to keep it!

You all rose admirably to the challenge of working in a fully online environment. I’m sure that most of you really missed the in-person learning experience, not to mention the in-person experience of being at college, meeting with your peers, participating in clubs, or any of the social activities that one normally associates with being a university student.

At least you had reduced commuting time, and less preparation time. Since many of you only appeared to me as black screens, you could attend class in pajamas, sometimes in bed, sometimes taking a break without it being noticed. However you came to class, thank you for turning up.

I hope you gained some useful knowledge and experience from this class, despite the challenges. I have learned from each and every one of you, and I will continue to be here for you if there is anything I can do to help you in your studies or academic pursuits.

If you are taking summer classes, good luck! If you are taking the summer off before returning in the fall, please enjoy the free time. I hope that the BMCC community will return to working and studying on campus in the not too distant future. In the meantime, I hope that we can continue to expand on our virtual communication, teaching, and learning skills.

It has been my great pleasure to work with you all. You should be proud of your accomplishments this semester. It isn’t easy focusing on classwork during a global pandemic, but you all did some excellent work, and I’m glad that some of you managed to include your responses to the current situation into your writing.

Onward and upward!

Yolande
